Premier Community Citizenship
Successful real estate professionals share the quality of community involvement. The Rescue Mission Of Mahoning ValleyIt takes leadership and dedication to be a powerful community citizen: having the courage to look fear in the face and see beyond its dark veil. It means selflessly giving of yourself - be it your money, time or effort - for a greater cause.
The Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley does not receive government or United Way funding, nor do they solicit house to house, in parking lots, or on the streets. They depend on people like you and our RE/MAX Valley Associates to volunteer their time, money, and goods. They provide over 160,000 meals, 32,000 overnight stays, clothing for 16,000 individuals, and 600 emergency food baskets on a yearly basis.
It may surprise you to know that in recent years they have fed, sheltered, and clothed more people in the summer than they have in the winter! They usually experience an increase in the number of people that they serve in June, July, and August. Poverty and Need know no season, and Homelessness never takes a vacation. RE/MAX Valley became involved in this worthy cause in 2000. And every year since we have tried to increase the level of our contribution. But the Mission needs help from all of us. The Rescue Mission has been serving the community for more than 112 years, and does not charge for any of the services offered. The Mission is your hand extended to provide a hand up to someone in need.
The Residence Building, located on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. provides daily meals and overnight stays to anyone who is in need. Residency programs are available for men, women, and children.
